Ten protesters were arrested at a movie theater Monday evening in New York City after refusing to show proof of vaccination cards.

The protesters purchased tickets, refused to show proof of vaccination cards and then refused to leave the AMC Empire 25 theater, which resulted in the NYPD being called, Newsweek reported. (RELATED: ‘Pro Choice’ Hollywood Star Evangeline Lilly Hits Back Hard Against Vaccine Mandates)

“On February 7, 2022 at approximately 1833hours [sic], inside of 234 West 42nd Street, 10 summonses for Trespassing were issued to individuals who were congregating inside of the closed theater,” Deputy Commissioner, Public Information spokesperson Sophia Manson told the Daily Caller. “They were asked by the manager to leave the location and the individuals refused.”

An Instagram video shows the NYPD officers with the protesters after they were called to remove them. One protester in the video can be heard saying, “This is going to the Supreme Court, this is going to get shut down.”

In another social media video, protesters can be heard chanting, “My body, my choice, the vaccine you won’t force.”

Showing proof of vaccination is required at the AMC Empire 25 in New York. “Area mandates require proof of vaccination for all guests ages 5 and older. Please be prepared to show your proof of vaccination documentation and photo ID when you present your ticket to the ticket taker,” their website states

The website also says that masks are recommended for everyone, and those who are not fully vaccinated will be asked to wear a mask in the theater.

The Daily Caller reached out to AMC Empire 25 for comment, to which they did not immediately respond.
