China Caused The Coronavirus Pandemic, And Companies Are Investing In China At Record Levels

China received the most foreign direct investment in 2020, knocking the United States off its decades-long perch despite covering up the coronavirus pandemic in late 2019 and early 2020.

“Companies are reassessing their policies about global supply chains, about foreign markets, about their own use of technology,” Wellesley College professor of international relations and economics Joseph Joyce told the Journal, commenting on the broader economic disruptions brought on by the pandemic. “The pandemic is making all these companies rethink the most basic assumption about where they are located.”
