Retired St. Louis Police Captain Found Shot Dead Outside Looted Store

Retired police captain David Dorn was found shot dead Tuesday outside of a pawn shop.

At 2:30 a.m, according to KMOV4, police found 77-year-old Dorn shot dead outside of Lee’s Pawn Shop and Jewelry Store on Martin Luther King Drive.

The Ethical Society of Police of St. Louis took to Twitter to comment on Tuesday. You can read their tweet condemning the violence above.

Former St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch also commented on Twitter, saying it was not a surprise that he died “fighting.” Fitch called Dorn a “true public servant.”

 

The investigation into Dorn’s death is ongoing, according to KMOV4.
